Based in Kanazawa, Tsuda Mizuhiki is a long-established company involved in the traditional craft of "mizuhiki". Until about 100 years ago, mizuhiki, a traditional Japanese wrapping technique, was a flat design. However, Sorokichi Tsuda (the first generation of Kaga Mizuhiki) invented the three-dimensional design of cranes, turtles, pine trees, bamboo, and plum, which is seen today, and elevated Mizuhiki to the realm of art.
